Cannot connect toUS or asian vpn sites, but okay to Toronto.
Now most sites connect fineI am not sure why people pay for slower NBN with wires everywhere.Looks fixed to me too. Then I come to this thread. Every company should have a backup and supply their emloyees with it if required.I even tied using my work VPN to USA and it sometimes drops out.But Nordvpn is very cheap, $21.5 for 3 years after cashback:Still losing packets here to overseas... Its not fixed.Has anyone else noticed any increase in throughput on 4G since this outage? finally!! Ummm – thread is about slow Optus internet and I am having slow Optus internet. The issue seems widespread, based on my co-workers.https://www.speedtest.net/result/8339536819.pngOccasionally I can get off shore, but its patchy very slow and lots of packet loss if I do manage a connection and pages fail to load.thanks for the vpn tip. :pThis is the clincher for me. It's a necessity of modern life for many people60%-80% packet loss to AWS hosted services. I work from home and currently its either very very slow or cuts out completely.. is this normal? The speed test is saying 0.45Mbps. They must have royally screwed their routing or something. Thanks for the suggestion. It's not specifically a DNS issue but the DNS change can help route around the problems and find alternative paths.. anyway just give it a try if you're having trouble with a certain site or service.
Netflix, Alexa, Plex all down, seems to be a repeat of the issue we had last monthOptus Cable in Brighton.
4G wireless broadband.Spent two hours chatting to their support today, they are mostly useless :(Thanks RedSector – nice to meet you too. WTF? Unable to access international sites and also Shopback.com.auIronically Yes Crowd always works fine for me from my Telstra wifi but never from my Optus phone or Optus Broadband even before this outage. All my Alexa devices and ring doorbell/mobile games stopped working and I thought it was a wifi issue.
View your usage, get billing support and much more with the My Optus app, download itAre you doing the test on wifi or through Ethernet cable? What type of NBN are you on FTTN ,FTTC, etc?Auto-suggest helps you quickly narrow down your search results by suggesting possible matches as you type. What kinds of speeds were you getting before the problem?I have NBN 100 speed 4 but experienced less than 1 Mbps every night in last 10 days. Done with Optus.I can't load some blaming websites, optimalprint etc doesn't work.Reason I ask is this little issue almost cost the company that I work for failing to submit for a major international tender contract.Websites based in Europe from what I found.Worthy of remembering, under the laws around supporting the NBN, competitors cannot supply high speed fixed wire broadband services to companies with less than 15 employees unless they also wholesale their services. My apologies for daring to ask. Ref: 21108511.World of Tanks Asia (Hong Kong server) is connectable. You mean anyone other than the rest of Australia on the nbn ?Offshore locations are getting at best 75% packet loss if connections can be made at all. Might be over..seems there are major issues with optus internet atmI was getting maybe 1000kbps then. Been paying for a substandard service for years.Back on the topic of the thread, it appears whatever had occurred that had allowed faster upload speeds seems to now have been put back to "normal" and my uploads are now maxing out agin around 1.78Mbps. Had to check an online Ikea order and noticed they're part of it, and yes the Ikea web site was painful didn't even load images.Haha Optus did something good by being incompetentA few weeks ago it was slow connection, now the websites are just timing out.Mine is still three times faster than before.yea Optus Cable went back online around 9pm last night but it was awfully slow – like back in 56k dial up modem era :pHas Optus mention anything about compensation for this issue?missus will be happy since she couldn't catch up with her LIVE overseas broadcasting :)Caulfield area, same.
Anyone else seeing it fixed now?no wireless coverage or ASDL available? 09-02-2020 02:29 PM. It'll add about 200ms to latency. Multiple sites/servers on @Optus not working. I don't have accounts on any social network, and no interest. But I'm getting 500gb for $80 with Optus.
